The principles of recovery refer to treating everyone as an individual and empowering them to identify and develop their own self-management plan. We support people to achieve their own goals rather than goals that are prescribed to them.
Recovery can work in conjunction with medication, complimentary therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other methods of improving mental health.
It involves providing people with self-management skills so they understand themselves, their strengths, the areas of life they struggle with, and what can trigger poor mental health. By better understanding ourselves we can all benefit from creating techniques and skills that help us to lead a more fulfilling life, by focusing on the better areas of life and coping better with the negatives.
We aim to support each individual to maintain their mental health and wellbeing, to live well and to realise their full potential.
We will work with the person to support their recovery goals.
